As a published illustrator, Vasia (Billie) Klemm has created multiple book covers and visual works for print, children’s book illustrations, and academic projects, establishing a versatile presence in both traditional and digital illustration.
Vasia Klemm is a Greek-born artist whose work blends social commentary with abstract landscapes and recurring ocean imagery inspired by her upbringing. She began her artistic training in high school in Athens, studying color theory, drawing, and children’s book illustration, and exhibited her work in several group and solo shows before moving to the United States in 2012.
Klemm earned AA degrees in Studio Art and Art and Culture from Sierra College, followed by BA degrees in Studio Art and Asian Studies (Japan concentration) from California State University, Sacramento. During her time at CSU Sacramento, she participated in multiple student exhibitions and created illustrations for a historical film project led by Dr. Jeffrey Dym. She also illustrated the children’s book The Lost Boy (2019) and has since illustrated multiple book covers and journals.
Her practice spans painting, illustration, and digital art, with an expanding emphasis on publication work. She is actively growing her presence on social media to broaden the visibility of her art, and has recently begun drawing her followers’ eyes as a way to connect with her audience and build a more interactive artistic community.
